Getting to Denbies Wine Estate without a car

One of England's largest vineyards, a short walk from Dorking station. The easiest car-free wine trip from London.

Step by step

  1. Take a direct train to Dorking from London Waterloo or London Victoria.
  2. Leave the station and follow the Mole Gap Trail north alongside the A24.
  3. Bear left into Chichester Road, then left onto Calvert Road.
  4. Carry on along the footpath on the southern edge of the estate to the visitor centre. Allow about 15 minutes.

Make a day of it

The estate sits at the foot of Box Hill and the North Downs Way. You can walk up through the vines and return from Box Hill & Westhumble station instead.

Good to know

  • Dorking Deepdene and Dorking West stations are nearby too, but Dorking (main) has the most frequent London trains.
  • Wear proper shoes if you’re walking through the vineyard. The paths get muddy after rain.

Visiting

Visitor centre, shop and restaurants open most days. Tours and tastings are bookable on the Denbies website.
